This year’s theme, Make It Leather, is a call to make intentional choices about the materials we use and value. Leather offers an alternative to disposable culture—it is designed to endure, be repairable over time, and is shaped by both heritage skills and ongoing innovation. Across fashion, interiors, travel, and more, leather demonstrates how one material can meet a wide range of needs while standing the test of time.
World Leather Day is an annual global moment dedicated to celebrating and supporting the leather industry. It brings together stakeholders from across the value chain to champion the incredible value of leather.
World Leather Day was launched in 2022 as a collaboration between Leather Naturally and Leather Working Group. The day provides an important opportunity to focus the conversation on leather as a durable, versatile, and long-lasting material that continues to play a meaningful role in a responsible materials economy.
