Turkish tannery Soydon took out the award for best new leather material as pictured. This is a difficult process adapted from textiles where dyeing is done in 2 stages, to create a middle colour that is distinct from the exterior colour. The leather is then bladed or perforated to show the sandwich effect.

Soydan, founded in 1947, is one of the oldest and leading tanneries in the country. The tannery produces an extensive range of high quality leathers for footwear, leather goods and garments. The main products of tannery are Kid, Goat, Lamb and Sheepskins to be used as nappa, suede and double-face.
