LASRA is inviting expressions of interest in the following 2019 courses:
Introductory Course
This is a one-year part-time course and is the mainstay of the training activity for our industry. It aims to ensure that your employees have the basic knowledge that gives them a better understanding of the broad picture and an effective grasp of basic technology. It has found favor with a wide range of people, from workers on the shop floor to those involved in marketing.
The courses are split into three areas: Bovine production, Ovine production and Woolskins
Advanced Course
This is a two-year part-time course which helps to further develop those people who will be relied on to maintain and improve your technology and deal with the technical challenges that lay ahead.
Fellmongery Course
This is a one-year part-time course that aims to ensure that your employees have the basic knowledge of fellmonger and pelt house processing and basic technology.
All LASRA courses are run online. Students are given a password to log-in to the LASRA server to access their material. The basic requirements are a secure computer preferably with broadband connection and an internet browser. (The course can still be done Offline if desired).
