Two leather luminaries were honoured at LASRA Conference for outstanding service to the Industry.

John Quigley, Director of The Shamrock Group, has long supported the leather industry with high quality chemical formulations for use in leather, fur and textile manufacturing. Shamrock has always been a keen supporter and sponsor of LASRA Conferences and also encourages leather students with a Shamrock top student award for the introductory course.

 

Michael Capenerhurst, Tasman Tanning, Wanganui, is a longtime staff member with an innate knowledge of leather dyes and pigments. This skill helps to produce the beautiful leathers that Tasman Tanning is known for. Mike emigrated to New Zealand from Leicester in 1965 as a leather technician and will be retiring in December to pursue his other passion, art and painting.
